I'm really into apathy at the moment. I was going to call this posting 'All Quiet on the Cyber Front' but I went for a different contradiction instead.
I went to a wedding last week. One of my oldest, best & most eccentric friends has had his last bachelor beer.
When the Vicar asked if anyone had any reason why they should not be man & wife, there was lots of nervous laughter.
At the reception, I almost wept during the best man's speech, when some of the groom's misdemeanors were recounted. Happy memories.
They are a sweet couple who deserve happiness.
I'm in Beijing right now. What can I say?... It's very cheap & there's lot's of building work going on. Ciggies taste rough.
This is a country in transition.
Mickey said 'Children of the Monkey Basket' is not on the net here. That's weird since my blog is.
I think I'm going to leave it there before I say something inappropriate....
Talking of which, my jet-lag is annoying & there's only one T.V. channel in English. I watched a film last night/morning about a talking dog who did Karate & helped to solve a murder case. How do these films get made?
We are playing the 'Beijing Rock Festival' tomorrow. We've submitted all our lyrics to the organizers (Luckily p*litic*l/r*ligi*us songs are not our forte). I hope we do a good show, -It feels like a bit of an honor to play a little part of the begining of live Rock music in China.

We need some picks, Rob (of you in China). You show me yours and I will show you mine (although it was a long, long time ago).
And we need to know what the concert was like. What did you play, how was the crowd, etc...
Hey, Rob!
Break a leg! (you have this expression in English for "Good Luck" too, right?)
Please, write details about the concert!
That's so awesome you guys are in China! How did it go? Don't take a month to tell us! I'm in Melbourne right now and my friend told me she was going to see Sebastian Bach on Sept 18. I asked her to come to China with me the next day so she could see Seb and I could see Supergrass, but she she's not even sure she can be bothered seeing him here. Was he a tosser? Please say yes. :D
Are you feeling apathetic or simply interested in it?
Simone
Hi Rob,
Perhaps it is better to be intersted in apathy than apathic in your interests ;)
Blogging only makes sence if you feel a need to share something with the world (and you already share so much)...
I'm also very curious to read how the China gig was! Do the people respond much different to the music (are police men present that say when to cheer to Supergrass? Yes, I'm ignorant, I know.. Ignorance is bliss they say)..
Well, gotta go know, please give my best to the wife and kiddies!
PS: So you do not write religious songs? (my world collapses... "Jezus came from outta space" provided with a new sense of spirituality... until now..)
it was a top show, i know coz i was there. sound was a bit weird, guitar solo's kepy spiking but really good performance and Gaz at least spoke some Chinese, which Placebo didnt....
towards the end the crowd were going bonkers for older stuff, strange ones etc. cant remember the title buit Gax played a solo of a road to rouen track, its was particulalry spell binding, every one was getting loved up, sweet.
and yes, sebastian bach was indeed a tosser
:-)
Will they get after you for just typing r*ligio*s/p*litic*l? Fantastic! Jesus Came From Outer Space is a valid concept, he basically did, and he sort of left in a secondhand car too. I've always thought What Went Wrong In Your Head is a good picture of grace towards the crazies, we need more grace on this planet.
